Table is Formitable’s latest product. It’s an app where foodies can follow restaurants, discover new experiences, and easily reserve tables. All on the fly, and in real-time, making it ideal for booking in advance, and in particular for last-minute bookings.
Since April of this year, Table has been rolled out and is fully functional in The Netherlands and Belgium. As we are preparing for launch in Denmark, France, Germany, and Sweden (and more countries to follow swiftly), we spoke to Rosemarie Veldhoen, booking and HR manager plus the sommelier of restaurant Gertrude in Amsterdam. Gertrude is one of the most followed restaurants on Table in The Netherlands. They serve comforting, seasonal dishes in a cozy, inviting venue on what many deem one of Amsterdam’s most charming streets: the Bosboom Toussaintstraat in Oud-West.
‘We're really proud to have so many followers on Table,’ says Rosemarie. ‘It’s a great new product for us to communicate with guests, and streamline our reservation process. Table perfectly fills in the gaps we experience due to cancellations. Although we have a waiting list for most days, when we do have cancellations, we see Table users scooping them up. And when people call our restaurant when we’re fully booked, I advise them to download Table, if not for getting a booking at Gertrude, then for one of Amsterdam’s many other restaurants. For foreign tourists and Dutch visitors from out of town, the app is an excellent way to get an idea of the culinary scene of the city.’
I can’t recommend Table enough
Rosemarie is a fan of the functionalities of Table, but she also is an avid user herself. ‘I eat out all the time, and I love the way Table offers suggestions based on my previous bookings and the restaurants I follow. Although seeing how often I go for a meal, I would like to see this expanded even more! More often than not, I use Table to book way in advance, and not just for last-minute lunches or dinners, although that happens too. So, both as someone working in the restaurant industry and as a consumer power user, I can’t recommend Table enough.’
